Printmaking

Printmaking is creating art by transferring an original image or design onto (usually) paper. This is called a print. Creating prints isn't considered copying because when each print is made, there are original qualities that are distinctly unique to the print.

Albrecht Dürer was 16th century, renaissance man. He was interested in philosophy and science, as well as being an artist. He made paintings, engravings and prints. He was well known for his woodcut prints, and made a great reputation for himself across Europe.

In class, we made prints out of linoleum. I chose to use the Northern Spotted owl for my print, and made it more Halloween themed.
